11th Asian Interpreting Symposium

Interpreting studies are rooted in the West. Professional insights, teaching methods, and theoretical development are usually based on Western languages, cultures, societies, and economic systems. However, there are significant differences between Asian and Western languages, social systems, cultural customs, and educational philosophies. Therefore, some teachers conducted new research to explore different interpreting practice and teaching in Asia.

The 11th Asian Interpreting Symposium is organized by the Graduate Program in Translation and Interpretation of National Taiwan University. In the symposium, experienced interpreting teachers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea will participate in panel discussions and share their interpreting pedagogy.
